Mrs Lesley J. Hicks
B.D.S. (London 1976)
Mrs Hicks has an interest in orthodontics (straightening of crooked teeth), and enjoys treating children and those with special needs.
Mr Robert Hathway
B.Ch.D (Leeds 1980)
Mr Hathway enjoys working in general dental practice and has 30 years experience.
We have been an approved training practice for over ten years and our current foundation dentist is Mrs Nishitha Cugati B.D.S (India 2008).

Penny Gratwick
Penny is an experienced therapist and hygienist who qualified in Cardiff in 1997.
Samantha Hennessy
Samantha is an enthusiastic hygenist who qualified in Cardiff in 1997.
Practice Team
Our dentists and hygienists are supported by our dedicated team of receptionists and nurses. The practice is managed by Rachel Thomas.
About Our Dental Practice
Cwmdulais Dental Centre is an established NHS & Private Dentist based in Crynant, a small village in the heart of the Dulais Valley in Neath Port Talbot. Our aim is to achieve the highest possible standards of dental care and offer a full range of dental treatments for the whole family, with full access to the dental centre for the disabled.
We also offer cosmetic dentistry, including tooth whitening, and are proud to be one of the few dental training practices in Wales.
Appointments with the Practice
Appointments during normal hours can be made by phone, or in person at reception. Private appointments may also be made outside these hours. We'll do our best to give you an appointment that's convenient, or for a named dentist, but it's not always possible.
If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible. If you don't give 24 hours notice, this could lead to private patients paying for lost appointment times and other NHS patients unable to have further appointments.
Recalls and Reminders
All recalls are done in accordance with the accepted National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) guidelines and according to individual patient needs. You can still visit your dentist or hygenist more often privately, if you wish to.
Urgent and Out of Hours Care
If a patient is in pain we will do our best to give them the next available appointment. Should you have pain outside of normal hours please phone the number on the Contact Us page.
